From Cape Town friends to a Joburg home, we found each other again in 2020 thanks to Jasanth. After eight venues, we walked into Netherwood Farm and knew — quiet forest, lakes, animals roaming, it felt like home.

As a photographer, this is the light I wait for. Sage greens against the Midlands dry grass, that last 20 minutes before sunset at Netherwood, and a couple who laugh harder when you stop posing them. We actually kept this whole set as a separate walkabout shoot — no lights, no timeline, just the two of them between family formalities. It was completely different to their morning portraits, and that freedom is why these frames feel so honest. —

They didn’t want stiff poses for their digital invite. They wanted the in-between — the laugh that snuck out when he tried to be serious, the way she fixed his collar like she’d done it a hundred times already.

We chased the golden hour, shot this in 45 minutes, and they left with a gallery ready for WhatsApp that night.
