LAND & SEA photography & art Riaan & Mandy Venter are a creative couple into art, design and photography. Common hobby - check! Our passion and love for nature grew.

As a young married couple, our interests were quite diverse and we needed a common hobby. Friends let us stay in their cottage and we realized both of us have a strong love for nature. Riaan's childhood interest in birds was revived, which led to the addition of binoculars and bird guides to our travel plans. When we laid hands on our first DSLR camera there was an instant connection. Add macro and telephoto lenses, and it was a done deal.

Very noisy and curious white-crested helmet-shrikes in Swaziland. This one was about 5 metres away on eye level, checking me out. It's not every day you can put a new species on your list and interact with a bird like this, cool memory.
