There are some people you photograph who make the whole thing feel a little more special.

Getting to capture Mandelie and Johannes felt less like a shoot and more like spending time with two close to my heart - just with a camera in my hand. 🤍

And honestly, that’s probably one of my favourite things about what I do.

The best photographs don’t always come from perfectly planned poses. Sometimes they come from knowing the people in front of you, making them laugh, letting them be completely themselves, and being ready when those little in-between moments happen.

The way they look at each other, laugh together and just are together says everything.

And yes...being friends with your photographer definitely has its perks. 😉

Can I tell you a little secret?
My favourite wedding photos are almost never the ones everyone expects.
It’s usually the one where your mum reaches for your hand.
Or your best friend laughing so hard they forget there’s a camera around.
Or the way the two of you look at each other when everyone else is distracted.
Those are the photographs that become priceless.

Sometimes it’s a dad trying very hard not to cry.
Sometimes it’s a grandmother watching quietly from the back.
Sometimes it’s the way a groom looks at his bride when she isn’t even looking at him.
Those are the moments I find myself thinking about long after I’ve packed my cameras away.
Don’t get me wrong—I love the beautiful details. The flowers, the dress, the golden light.
But what I really love is people.
The hugs that last a little longer.
The laughter that catches everyone by surprise.
The quiet moments in between all the excitement.
That’s the story I want you to remember.
