I woke up early this morning to do a meditation in bed, and was thinking about the last few weeks of the negative energy and panic around the globe due to Covid-19. Every now and again something positive would pop up, like a funny song, or a quote, and I’d relax again.
Isn’t it crazy that the stories we tell ourselves become our reality? Shift your mindset, shift your reality. So I’ve chosen to experience the next 3 weeks of lockdown as chill time. Rather than feel like I’m in a jail, confined indoors to my home, I choose to see it as an inward adventure. I have my selection of podcasts to listen to, am doing my daily yoga and journaling, will enjoy sitting in the sunshine with a cup of tea and a good book (I’ve brought 6 along for the ride). In fact, this is just what I l did when I was in Bali, with the exception of swimming in the ocean and exploring the island. I’m quite excited about this self-indulgent ‘me-time’ as I’m almost up to date with all my work - just one viewing left to do with a client on Skype. There is definitely a shift happening across the globe. We have collectively been pushed out of our comfort zones and given a shake to wake up. It’s strange, it’s uncomfortable, it’s real, it’s made some of us feel insecure...and I think it’s just what the world needs right now. We need to slow down, figure out what is important in our lives, be fully present and just completely surrender control to it all. And maybe, just maybe, new appreciation and insight will stem from this.
