VIETNAM ~SAPA valley
Korean subtitles. Please share and help us create awareness.

Sapa valley , a place that I had longed to see for many years was both beautiful and heart breaking. Heart breaking because I was unaware of the child exploitation that is happening in the area. Yes, it exists all over the world , however what I have come to realise is how ignorant we are as travelers. Some of us choose to ignore the real issues that we encounter, whilst others are just unaware. Before you go to Sapa please watch this.
It documents the children of Sapa who are victims of the tourist industry. Its a really difficult situation. As much as us travelers want to support local communities , travel and see the world, our travels can and are clearly doing more damage than good in many ways.
Please be aware when you travel of the situations that exist in each country. The only way we can end things such as child exploitation, s*x slavery and animal tourism is by not supporting it.
We are living in times where it is so easy to spread messages and create awareness thanks to social media.

My boyfriend and I hope to make travel content that educates and creates awareness more than anything else.We just started our channel. Its very small hehe but we hope to use it as a platform to give a voice to those that can't speak up for themselves

Sapa valley is known as one of the most beautiful areas in the world. 사파 계곡은 아름다운 경치로 유명한 곳이죠. But there is a very dark unspoken side to Sapa valley, a side ...

DO YOU WANT TO CHANGE LIVES?

This month is volunteer month and so I am going to take this opportunity to reach out to all of you wonderful people in the hope that some of you may be interested!

As many of you know I am currently in Nepal staying at an orphanage and doing some volunteer teaching. Many of you have already been incredibly supportive and sponsored textbooks for the students.
Again thank you for your kindness I dont think you quite understand how much of an impact your donation has made. It means that students are able to continue with their studies this year. One goal down and another two to go!

🏵THE SITUATION🏵
As this is a family run orphanage they do not receive any government funding.
They are trying to support , educate and care for ten children on their own, many of which were affected by the earthquake.

They rely on donations and sponsorships to keep going.

🏵Things they need🏵
They always in need of
➡food
➡Clothes
➡stationery

🏵THE GOAL🏵

1.Long term sponsorship

I am wanting to try and find people that would be willing to do long term donations amd sponsorship to this organsiation so that they no longer have to worry about where the next meal is coming from for the children.

2. Help the school

All the children attend an English school and I am blown away with the high level of education. As it is a private school the school doesn't receive much funding from the government.

The school is also in need of support and could really do with resources. I spoke to the director today and when I asked her if she would like me to try and get some donations she gleamed with happiness.

Educational games , stationery, educational posters and most importantly comfortable desks and chairs , are all items that we take for granted in a classroom but would make a fundamental difference to the students learning.

These kids are sitting in desks that are not ideal from 9 to 4 30.... that includes kindergarten children.

As teachers we know just how important it is for students to be in a comfortable learning environment for optimal learning.

If this message is speaking to you on some level and you feel that you would be able to help in anyway please contact me.

I can't tell you enough how every little bit of support helps.

➡If you want to donate
🍎food
👭clothes
🖍stationery

They would be so grateful.

➡If you want to sponsor on a regular basis or are interested in committing to sponsoring a child long term please contact me.

I am getting to know each of the children on a very personal level and I can tell you very honestly that if you decide to sponsor and donate towards this cause you will be investing in a child's future. Each of these children have hearts of gold, they are hard working and determined little souls with big dreams.

Children are the future.

I got caught right in the middle of the Gwanghwamun square protest yesterday trying to make my way to a lantern festival.

Over 1million South Koreans came together last night to protest against the President and a call for her to step down. This protest was conducted in such a dignified and peaceful manner it was eye opening to witness.
Especially coming from South Africa and seeing the recent attacks in America where people feel the need to burn, destroy and vanadalize property to make their point. Even young children were present last night at the event, something that could never happen in South Africa or America as protests have become so violent.

South Korea you did the world proud by showing how us how voices can be heard without using violence and scare tactics to bring about change.

Bless this nation.
