This elegant & fragrant sympathy arrangement was delivered today. It was filled with Asiatic lillies (still needing to bloom), Snaps, Ranunculus, Anthuriums, Campanula, Stocks, Delphiniums along with textured greenery and some succulents. 🌿

It was so wonderful to work with flowers again! This lush & luxury bouquet is heading for Stellenbosch tomorrow as a sympathy arrangement on behalf of a friend of mine in Canada. It's so special how flowers can say a million words ❤️

Floristry can be a messy, beautiful and peaceful process 🌼

For a florist, a vessel is a blank canvas, the starting point to a beautiful work of art.
The shape and size of a vessel have a huge impact on what an arrangement will look like and how high & wide the arrangement should be. 'Greening up a vase" is creating a base of foliage & hardy elements such as bamboo/ curly willow, to create a platform in order to showcase florals, so that they can peek through the foliage, stand out or even follow the lines of foliage. A greened up vase should also be able to stand on its own and create a statement piece.
I let the natural shape of foliage and blooms guide me, assist me in order to create a natural flow of all the elements within the floral design. I try not to overthink things, but rather let my heart and hands do the talking. 🧡

Top tip for Hydrangeas - if they are drooping - just submerge the head of the flower into some water for a few mins. These amazing fluffy flowers drink via their petals!

Bridal portraits are a favourite wedding item for me but I don't always have alot of time to do them. Vicky and I spent an afternoon just focucing on her!

What a rollercoaster few weeks it's been!
After arriving back from San Francisco, my husband and I were in self - quarantine for two weeks, to be safe, and now we are in lockdown. This month has definitely been a challenging one in many different ways, but I'm holding onto hope and positivity. 💛
All my booked weddings have been postponed to later this year, I so look forward to these upcoming special occasions and creating gorgeous floral creations! 🌸
