Floristry can be a messy, beautiful and peaceful process ๐ผ
For a florist, a vessel is a blank canvas, the starting point to a beautiful work of art.
The shape and size of a vessel have a huge impact on what an arrangement will look like and how high & wide the arrangement should be. 'Greening up a vase" is creating a base of foliage & hardy elements such as bamboo/ curly willow, to create a platform in order to showcase florals, so that they can peek through the foliage, stand out or even follow the lines of foliage. A greened up vase should also be able to stand on its own and create a statement piece.
I let the natural shape of foliage and blooms guide me, assist me in order to create a natural flow of all the elements within the floral design. I try not to overthink things, but rather let my heart and hands do the talking. ๐งก
