The last couple of weeks has been very frustrating astrophotography wise. The wind in Cape Town has been relentless. 35-40 mph day and night. And will apparently continue like this for another week. Does help with trying to catch the stars and nebulas’

Last night was the turn of NGC 3293 - a nebula with a LOT of stars in the picture! Blimey! I need to try this one again with some adjustments. More details:
The Gem Cluster (NGC 3293) is a young open cluster located approximately 8,400 light-years away in the southern constellation Carina. NGC 3293 has a mass of 1,457 solar masses and is only 12 million years old. It contains more than a hundred stars brighter than 14th magnitude within a field 10 arcminutes across. The cluster itself has a radius of 13.2 light-years.

Another pic from my recent flight over Hillcrest - this was a golf driving range not so long ago - Emberton Estate named after the driving range. An interesting feature of this photo is the squiggly line of trees (arrowed) which is Jan Smuts Avenue in Winston Park.

Did a flight on Wednesday for several clients in the Hillcrest area - this is one of the shots I took of Hillcrest looking back towards Hillcrest Corner with Lillies Quarters with the red roof in the foreground. How this sleepy village has changed in 20 years!

I am selling my DJI OSMO+ with accessories - if you count up all the bits it comes to a grand amount! However, I want to sell for R7800 for the lot. It has two batteries and a stand, an excellent carry case plus the extra bits like mountings. Works 100% - I am scaling down my kit! Great video capabilities and the gimbal works like a charm. Also has brand new filters. Even used it on one of my helicopter flights - very stable!
