𝗥𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲: As an exhibition, Whispering the Now operated as a socio-sustainable experiment. The works that were on display engaged with diverse facets of human experience while responding to the critical social and environmental realities of our time. Rather than succumbing to the weight of negativity, the artists carved out space for awareness, reflection, and urgency - understanding that time is a resource not to be wasted.

To whisper is not to be silent. It is a deliberate act, a quiet insistence in a world often dominated by noise. In this exhibition, artists embodied this approach, standing firm in their commitment to subtle yet impactful change. They reminded us that transformation is not only driven by those who demand attention but also by those who offer steady, dignified contributions to cultural discourse.

We are preparing a group exhibition from the newest cohort of the City of Cape Town’s Emerging Artist Programme, now in it's eighth year.

For three months, 25 creatives meet weekly to learn the fundamentals of the art ecosystem and how they can prepare themselves to enter the professional gallery world.

Not everything we see or remember is visible. Artists translate emotions, stories and inherited experience into something physical that others can see and connect with. Through the brushstrokes and pen marks, a viewer discovers new voices each time they return to the artwork.

They, the unseen artists will present their work for the first time in their group exhibition, SEEING THE INVISIBLE.
