In between this crazy amount of rain here in Cape Town over the last two days, the little patches of light make ideal photographic conditions in my garden... a brief moment to capture the miniature world of huge beauty. Striking complimentaries of red and green; contrasting textures of spiky edged leaves and glowing droplets; and purple leaves reflecting their colour into a single rain drop making it look like a magical iridescent purple liquid. All these things hold my focus long enough for me to become fully present, and remind me of the importance of stopping, breathing consciously and appreciating the small wonders that are so easy to miss!

Small moments of precious light and beauty to bring us into the present and start the day from a place of appreciation.

Another year of capturing fleeting moments of beauty in gorgeous Cape Town. Here are a few.
I'm choosing to miss the midnight change over to 2026 and get some sleep, so that my camera and I can witness the first beach sunrise of the new year at 5am. 📷👍

It's small still but I am slowly building it up. I love capturing the beauty and fragility of our planet and my hope is that my photos will uplift people and inspire them to protect this amazing world. 🌍💚

It's been way too long since I posted some pics.
This was the second last sunset of last year (30.12.2022) enjoyed with my lovely daughter Erin at Milnerton beach, Cape Town.
There was a big wind that whipped up the sand around our feet and caused interesting patterns and formations on the surface of the sand.
These 33 pics are already culled down from an embarrassing number (as usual I struggled to determine which ones to choose), and I look forward to learning which are stronger, through your honest likes (please!)

What better thing to do on Heritage Day than hike up Table Mountain. I love the variety it offers, from the dense lush foliage and rocky waterfalls of Skeleton Gorge, to the sandy "beach" at the Hely-Hutchinson Reservoir on top of the mountain, to the colourful fynbos and breathtaking views coming down Nursery Ravine. It was well worth the sore legs!
