Saying goodbye to a family home is never an easy milestone for a young family. All the memories and cherished moments made within the characteristic charm of those walls, as only we remember them. Like a picture frame from our mind's eye of our childhood.

That's why I love to shoot homes like these. I could see the kids' lives playing out in each room as I went through the home. From playing Frisbee on the green lawn with their dogs or Marco Polo in the pool with their friends, to Winnie the Pooh bedtime stories cuddled up with Mom & Dad, to bath time tantrums, or eagerly waking up on Christmas morning to open presents. I strive to capture the characteristic charm that has been ingrained within the walls of these homes.

One of my favourite shots of 2023 from one of the most challenging shoots... a romantic private dinner under the stars at a luxury 5 star lodge in North West in December. In order to get the shot the lodge had to shut off their flood lights for about 40 minutes which meant switching off their main circuit breakers so the whole restaurant had to sit in darkness during their dinner service while we battled with relighting candles in the wind and re-adjusting settings for the multiple long exposures. But, in the end it was worth it.
