Please note that the South African Weather Service has updated its yellow level 4 warning for severe thunderstorms to now include the Cape Metropole.

Initially, the warning was for the Cape Winelands and the Overberg.The warning is for showers and severe thunderstorms that could result in rapid, heavy downpours, excessive lightning, a strong downdraft and even hail. These weather conditions are expected to occur from Monday, 4 March, until Tuesday, 5 March at 6 am.

Please exercise caution and to report any emergencies to the City’s Public Emergency Communication Centre on 021 480 7700 from a cellphone and 107 from a landline.
