I have always loved taking photographs. They seem to capture not only a picture but a memory too. When I look at a photo, I can smell the smells, hear the sounds and feel the surrounding atmosphere that I experienced at that very moment. In the same vein, I love travelling. New places, sounds, sights, tastes, smells… the list is endless. The excitement that comes from seeing a new landscape out of
the little window of the plane feeds the wanderlust that I find within me. As a consultant, I have done a lot of travelling for work, and been to amazing, far-flung places. The problem is that we usually travel alone. A friend of mine recently bemoaned that moment of discovering something wonderful in a new destination and not having anyone to share it with: “Wanderlost”, “Discoverpointment” or “Traveloning” (she is a lexophile). So I came up with an idea of how to force people get up, get out and go exploring and being able to share it with others too. Think back to those treasure hunts you used to love doing thanks to a list of hidden things that your grandad had laboriously put together! So I create picture hunts: things to get out and do and see,. Ways to help immerse yourself in the culture and surrounding hidden gems that each destination has to offer. By completing one of my picture challenges, I hope that you will enjoy hunting and exploring as much as I do, get the most out of your travel to exotic places and share your adventures with your friends and families.
