WHITE RHINOCEROS:
I would like to make a post of appreciation for these amusing animals.
Many times people don’t understand how special it is find yourself in front of these gentle giants especially on foot.
Unfortunately numbers are still decreasing. In 2022 they estimated 15.942 white rhinos left in the whole world…
The total population that includes all the species: White rhinos, Black rhinos, Java rhinos, One-horned rhinos and Sumatra rhinos is less than 27.000 individuals.

Rhinos have been around for millions of years and play a crucial role in their ecosystem. They're important grazers, consuming large amounts of vegetation, which helps shape the African landscape. This benefits other animals and keeps a healthy balance within the ecosystem.

WE NEED THEM. 🤍🦏

AFRICAN WILD DOGS 🐶 (Lycaon pictus)
Endangered specie ✴️
The scientific name means “painted wolf,” referring to the animal's irregular, mottled coat, features patches. Each animal has its own unique coat pattern, and all have big, rounded ears.
African wild dogs live in packs that are usually dominated by a monogamous breeding pair. The female has a litter of two to 20 pups, which are cared for by the entire pack. She feed them regurgitating the food.

‼️INTERESTING FACT:‼️
A recent study demonstrated how this animals communicate with each other by sneezes .

Springboks (Antidorcas marsupialis)

This antilope inhabit the dry areas of south and southwestern Africa( mostly Karoo and Desert) for this reason evolution gave to them the ability to survive for months without drinking water, meeting their requirements through eating succulent vegetation.

A feature, peculiar to the springbok is pronking, in which the antilope performs multiple leaps into the air, up to 2 m above the ground, in a stiff-legged posture, with the back bowed and the white flap lifted. During this action a pouch on their back (hence the scientific name - marsupials) opens and a scent coming from dermal glands get released.

Flap-necked Chameleon

Their diet includes a variety of invertebrates, although large individuals may take geckos and other chameleons. The species is itself commonly preyed on by snakes such as the boomslang and the twig snake.

⚠️ The flap-necked chameleon is in heavy demand for the international pet trade, being the third most highly traded chameleon species. No detrimental effects on the total population size have been observed so far, although more in-depth studies have been recommended.
