Today's post goes out to the incredibly talented Berry . For those of you that don't know, Berry received a golden ticket in the latest season of Idols SA and is currently participating in Theatre Week. I know that she is missing her family so much, while at the same time is so excited to be chasing her dreams. Both states of emotion are completely normal and we are allowed to feel them concurrently! Berry, I just want you to know that I'm so proud of you for going for it. You are an incredibly talented singer; you have earned your right to compete in this competition and you have an army of support back home ❤❤❤

I was looking through Pinterest to find a quote to go with this image, since lately I've been struggling to find words for anything. I came across this (uncredited) one:
"Life is a balance of holding on and letting go."
I think that that pretty much sums up where I'm stuck at the moment. Trying to reconcile myself to the things I can't change, trying to decide where I need to hold on and where I need to pivot. Trying to decide which battles to fight and which to give up on... Maybe it's time to let it all go, to surrender control and to let the pieces fall where they fall.
Just maybe....
Not quite the light heartedness that I was planning on going for this Monday morning, but it is certainly me being real and raw with you.
And with all that's going on in the world, I think it's okay, no, I think that it's important, to share our vulnerabilities. So here's to knowing that you're not alone and to a week filled with peace and calm, and to learning to let go of the things that no longer serve us.

A father's job is to love his daughter in the way that she deserves to be loved. The example that he sets for her is what she will expect from others in the future. I hope that the fathers and father figures in our lives know and remember this! It always warms my heart to see such a beautiful bond between father and daughter ❤

Laughter is the best medicine! It has certainly helped break the tension in some arguments in our marriage over the years, especially since I sometimes like to argue about the most ridiculous things 🙈 There is nothing quite like a well timed quip to make me burst out laughing, which makes me take a step back and realize just how ridiculous I'm being.

So, my unplanned marriage tip for today: learn to laugh with each other and at yourself. After all, it's doesn't really matter where exactly the plates must go in the dishwasher, does it? 🤔🤣

Happy Friday!!! What are your weekend plans? Please tell me that they are more exciting that mine! Mine involve ripping out and replacing the ceiling in my room 😭 I mean I love a good DIY project, but I want the results to increase the beauty, style and practicality of the space I'm working on. I don't what to do all that work just for a boring ceiling! 🤦🏼‍♀️

You are loved and appreciated... Capturing emotion is one of the reasons that I do what I do, I want to show you just how much he loves you, just how much your kids enjoy playing with you, just how much you are appreciated by your loved ones.

Besides making you all warm and fuzzy inside when you see the images for the first time, it gives you something to look back on when he's left all the kitchen cupboard doors open AGAIN, which you discover just after stepping on a piece of Lego that the kids missed during clean up. Because, you know, life happens and everyone drops the ball every once in a while; the important thing is to leave the unimportant ones on the floor and just pick up the important ones ❤

(Every once in a while = every day in my case. My balls are lying around everywhere 🤣🤣🤣)
