I started taking pictures when we were on holiday one year. I enjoyed it! I enjoyed looking at the world through different spectacles. I enjoyed that the things I once took for granted were once again appreciated. It's an amazing feeling when the face on a rock or a couple in love can bring a smile to your face. Well after that I was hooked... Taking photos became a hobby, one I started to practic
e more regularly. I eventually signed up for a photography course that taught me the finer detail of photography. Now that I was fully equipped I knew that I could not be stopped. I knew with every thing inside me that I wanted to become a photographer, but not just a photographer, the best photographer. I eventually decided to become a full time photographer. Today I am a registered photographer with the Photographic Society of South Africa and SA Professional Photographers. Isn't that when one is at ones happiest? When you truly enjoy what you are doing, when your hobby becomes your job. Still today, I don't see photography as a job, something that I have to do, but rather as something I long to do. I get so excited when a client books a photo shoot or wedding that I can't wait to pick up my camera and capture the story. I am truly blessed...
I appreciate the raw reality of everyday life, the fleeting beauty of those in-between moments, and I do my very best to take every picture with that in mind. I want my viewers to relate to my photographs through recognition of and familiarity with the situations, the emotions, and the energy so much that they wonder if they are looking at a picture of someone they know. I try to capture that moment when you feel most comfortable and think no one is watching. That moment when you are you, not when you have to put on the "Say cheese" face. Taking photos and capturing the story is my life's dream... I truly hope that I will one day be afforded the opportunity to capture your story on camera.
