Rose gold balloons. Gold curtains. Navy gowns. A trio on the couch who clearly ran the whole night.

This is what matric farewell looks like when you actually let yourself enjoy it.
Twelve years of early mornings, exams, and "just one more year." This was the finish line. And we were there to photograph every single moment of it.

She never looked at the camera once. It's still the best frame from the whole session. 🖤

There's a version of a portrait session where everything is perfectly posed and a little bit forgettable. And then there's this - where you just let the subject exist in the space, you find the light, and you wait.

The sequins. The off-shoulder neckline. The way the hair falls. Shot in black and white because sometimes colour is just noise.

You don't need a special reason to book a glamour session. You just need a date.

They weren't posing. They were just talking. And that's exactly when I pressed the shutter. 💙

Matric farewell is the night every parent spends months planning - the dress, the hair, the pre-drinks, the venue. And it's over in about four hours.

What you have after that night is the photos.
These two showed up in coordinated navy, sat down on a velvet bench, started chatting and completely forgot I was in the room. That moment right there - that genuine sideways glance - that's the one that goes on the wall.

Nobody told them to smile like that. That's just what they look like when they look at each other. 🤍

Wedding portraits are one of the most important investments you'll make on your day- and honestly, the thing most couples wish they'd prioritised more when they look back on it.

The dress, the flowers, the venue - all of it fades into memory. The photographs are what's left. And when the photographs look like this, they become something you frame and hang and stop to look at every single time you walk past.

She sat still for exactly four seconds. That was enough. 🐾

I've photographed a lot of subjects over the years. None of them have ever worn a leopard-print bow with quite this level of confidence.

Pet portraits are one of my favourite sessions to shoot - because animals don't perform for the camera. What you see is exactly who they are. The tilt of the head, the ridiculous ears, the eyes that say everything. That's just her, on a Tuesday afternoon in Benoni.

These are the photos you'll still treasure when she's a grey-muzzled old lady sleeping in the sun. Book her session while she's still got this chaotic puppy energy.
