Apparently the gossip committee has been hard at work...

Rumour has it I've closed my photography business.

Plot twist... I haven't. 😂

If you've spotted me spending time with my horses, making memories with my family, or simply disappearing into nature for a while, congratulations... you've caught me doing something I forgot how to do for a very long time: living.

For almost 20 years, photography was my world. I worked Mondays to Sundays, weekends, public holidays... basically if there was a day ending in "y", I was probably editing, shooting, answering messages or worrying about the next session. Along the way, my health and anxiety gently (and sometimes not so gently) reminded me that life isn't meant to be lived behind a computer screen.

So these days, you'll find me soaking up sunsets, getting covered in horse hair, laughing with my family, cuddling my dogs, and appreciating the little moments that matter most.

Does that mean Whimsy Dreams Photography has closed?

Absolutely not.

It simply means I'm doing things differently. I take on sessions when I feel I can give them my whole heart, creativity and energy—because every client deserves my best, not what's left of me.

So, to the lovely members of the "Neighbourhood News Network" 😜... thank you for your concern, but I'm not permanently closed. I'm just finally learning that a beautiful life makes for even more beautiful photographs.

Thank you to everyone who has supported and understood this new chapter. Your kindness means more than you'll ever know. ❤️

Now, if you'll excuse me... I have horses to hug, dogs to spoil, sunsets to admire... and somewhere in between, some magical photographs to create. 📸🐴✨

🚨 URGENT WARNING TO DOG OWNERS 🚨

The Tshwane SPCA would like to urge all dog owners to remain extra vigilant following concerning reports of an increase in the theft of large breed dogs across Gauteng.

Breeds such as Pit Bulls, Rottweilers and other large or power breeds appear to be targeted. While the West Rand has reportedly been affected, concerns are now also spreading to areas including Pretoria, Witbank and surrounding communities.

There is growing concern that some stolen dogs may be held while owners search desperately for them, often offering rewards that increase over time, before the dogs are suddenly “found.” Sadly, there is also the possibility that some animals may be stolen for dog fighting, illegal breeding or other cruel purposes.

The Tshwane SPCA encourages the public to remain alert and to report any suspicious activity immediately.

🐾 Please help protect your pets:

• Keep your dogs safely secured behind locked gates and fences.
• Where possible, keep dogs in the back yard and out of sight from the street.
• Avoid advertising or showing off your dogs on social media or in public spaces.
• Ensure your pets are microchipped and that your contact details are up to date.
• Report suspicious vehicles, individuals or activity in your area immediately.
• If your dog goes missing, report it to your nearest SPCA, local vets, shelters and SAPS as soon as possible.

We ask the community to please stay vigilant and help spread awareness. By working together, we can help protect our beloved animals and prevent them from falling into the wrong hands.

As a Pet Photographer, we are not really allowed to have favourites. I mean... I love them all. However, I met the Eurofire's a couple of years ago and have been working with them ever since. A huge privilege! I get to have a favourite okay. I love all of them but Echo... Sweet sweet Echo. She's got a very soft spot in my heart 🥹🥰🥰
