Happy last day of 2025!! 🙌🏼 The end of the year feels like a true full circle moment for me.

Just over 10 years ago, I had moved to New York for my undergrad and was really starting to miss the African wild. One night, I randomly came across a YouTube Channel, called WildEarth, that was live-streaming an early morning safari all the way back home in South Africa; There was a safari guide and a cameraman searching for a leopard while answering questions from the viewers in real time. It felt like I was actually on that safari— 13,000 kilometres away. I remember thinking then that something like this was a glimpse into what the future of connecting people with nature could look like.

A decade later, I’m really happy to share that I officially joined WildEarth last month in a dual role where I have the honour to support that realisation of connecting people around the world with nature whilst delivering measurable conservation impact for African wildlife & local communities.

Hoorah! This week, we achieved our highest South African audience numbers ever during Wednesday’s sunset safari on DSTV. We are hugely encouraged by this milestone - it means that our live safaris, especially with the return of the Masai Mara, continue to inspire and connect growing numbers of people with Africa’s astounding natural heritage.

FUTURE & SUCCESS - the next chapter of Mabula’s cheetah story. Meet the new coalition of male cheetah who are making themselves at home on Mabula. The young brothers, Isago and Katlego (meaning ‘future’ and ‘success’ in Setswana, respectively) are descendants of the first cheetah litter born in Pilanesberg National Park. Their rare pedigree not only strengthen the genetic diversity of Mabula’s cheetah population but also mark a new era in the Reserve’s conservation story. I can’t wait to see how their story unfolds 🙌🏼
