21/10/2026
An incredible morning spent perched up on the cliffs, watching dolphins feeding directly below, Pacific Gulls circling, and even a few whales playing in the distance. That's my ideal way to start the day! 🌅
It wasn't easy, though. After returning from my Cape Pillar overnighter just the afternoon before, the 3am alarm wasn't very exciting!
With a decent hike through the dark ahead of me, I set off for Cape Hauy to catch the sunrise, completing my 47km "Free Capes" adventure in just two days.
This approach suits me much better as a photographer than the official Three Capes Track, as there's no need to follow bookings or schedules. I can head out spontaneously when the weather is just right!
There is still time to make 2026 the year your landscape photography truly levels up! 📸
