Operation no37: The Lost Asylum

Today we head to wales to investigate what’s left of the famous Cefn Coed Hospital. This mental hospital was designed in the early 1900s in a Victorian style before being opened in 1932 after WW1. After years of reports about neglect and abuse Cefn Coed finally closed its doors in 2018 after an investigation and a new facility with modern equipment being build on the same site. Today it sits in a state of disrepair however even though the Cefn Coed name is still talked about today the facility seems like it never really shut its doors. A now forgotten papermill in Ivybridge, Devon.

The Stowford Papermill was established in the late 18th century by late William Dunsterville. It became renowned for its high quality watermarking before closing in 2013. It now sits silent surrounded by wealthy new builds whom owners want it demolished no matter its grade 2 listing. No graffiti, no vandalism just took a toll with the time.
