Where do you spend the most time? Does the art in that room actually reflect how much time you spend there? The spaces we use most deserve the most thought. Sail 250, celebrating America’s 250th anniversary, made its first stop in New Orleans. Tall ships and military vessels docked along the Mississippi River as part of a month long maritime celebration that will also visit Norfolk, Baltimore, NY and Boston. visitneworleans

There are not many reasons I’ll get up before the sunrise… international travel being the top reason.

But, the chance to spend a couple of hours pierside catching the sun popping over the horizons creating amazing silhouettes of the Tall Ships would be another one.

I spent a lot of time along the river this weekend. Brought things full circle by getting on not just one but two different ships - making up for being turned away at the rail when I was four after waiting all day on the wharf in Boston.

More photos will eventually follow, including the ones from film cameras…

Bright, bold, and full of character, the “painted ladies” of Esplanade Avenue never blend in. These Victorian beauties from the 1800s add so much color and charm to this iconic New Orleans street. 504
