I've been chasing this female Belted Kingfisher all summer. I caught her by accident in the late spring but didn't have my new gear with my 150- 600 mm lens. Yesterday he was at my go to lake and I had exactly what I needed. The female of this species is actually the more colorful one. I'm very happy with how these turned out. I hope you enjoy.

Ran out to Lake Olathe today to see if I could capture anything. Didn't see anything but Great Blue Heron until this guy/gal came flying by and landed in a tree. Eagle at Lake Olathe.

Hummer vs Wasp.... This is actually a dangerous game. If a wasp stings a Hummingbird, it will likely die. Their body mass is so low, their systems cannot absorb or dilute the highly toxic venom from a wasp sting.
