Howling Wolf Photography Photography is a great passion of mine. Colorado, the Western U.S., and more. Live through the lens. Wildland firefighter by trade, photographer by passion.

I have lived in Colorado my whole life. I’m lucky to be a third generation native of the state as well. I travel all around the state as well as the western U.S. searching for the great shots in the great outdoors. I started this business to show the beauty of our state as well as the western United States, it is my hope that when someone sees my photos they are given a chance to see the beauty of

the location. Also it is my hope that for those who are unable to travel or not sure where to go that my photos allow them to see these locations for what they are. I always am traveling to get more so always check back! When I’m not doing photography, I spend my summers working as a Wildland firefighter, traveling the country suppressing wildfires. It is a way to not only live an exciting life but to give back to the community who I have always wanted to help. I hope you will look at my photos and give me a call!

Water….For some it provides a zen, almost relaxing sensation, one of pure energy and for others it is a fear and something to stay away from. Whatever your feelings towards water it is a force of nature and has a power that eats away at even the planet we call home. Water for me provides a calming and zen feeling which allows me to think clearly and have an empty mind which allows me jump over life’s struggles as well as ups and downs, providing me with relief one could say. Some of my greatest thoughts, ideas, motivations, and life decisions have come from taking the time to just sit next to a waterfall or river. If you are like me then let water carry your thoughts away and flow free much like it does in nature.

Day 4-30, Glacier National Park.

While spending the season in Glacier in 2019, I had the chance to work inside the hose tower, one of few built in the 1930’s. The tower which is still in use today serves as a historical point but also a way to dry hoses after use. One firefighter climbs to the top and the other stands below using a pulley to lift the hose above where the firefighter up top wraps them around a beam to fall back down below, allowing them to drain and dry. Being inside is such a cool experience and technique to learn.

Once again this photo is from 2016 in Grand Teton. In the early part of the season a lot of crews will do prescribed burns as the weather and fuels allow it without a high danger of spreading out of control like it would during the regular season.
