A CHANGE TO HOW I SHARE MY WORK 🤍
✨TLDR: Effective immediately, I will no longer be posting identifiable images of children on my page, regardless of whether a signed release is on file.
This decision comes after the recent ruling from the U.S. Court of Appeals involving the private possession of AI-generated images depicting fictional children in explicit situations.
We live in a time where someone’s photograph can be taken, altered, manipulated, or used to create something that person never consented to. When it comes to children, that is something I will not ignore.
As a photographer, I am entrusted with some of the most important people and moments in my clients’ lives. I take that responsibility seriously. While I cannot control what someone else may do with an image once it is online, I can control what I choose to put into the public space.
Will this change how I market my business? Yes.
Will it mean that some of the images I love most won’t be shared publicly? Absolutely.
But I’m okay with that.
No amount of engagement, exposure, or business growth is more important to me than protecting the families and individuals who trust me.
I will continue photographing your families, your milestones, your seniors, your little ones, and all of the moments that matter. I will simply be more intentional and protective about what I choose to share publicly.
If I can make even one small change that gives the children I photograph an added layer of protection, that’s a change I’m willing to make.
