'Full Frame Works' Photography

'Full Frame Works' Photography Joseph T. Meirose IV is an Alaska based landscape & luxury estate photographer. Hi. It's simply a fantastic place to call home. Thank you for checking out my work!

I am a Sackets Harbor/1000 Islands New York based full-time commercial, landscape and luxury estate photographer. Raised in Ohio, I grew up studying film photography, technical theatre and fine art at the School for Creative and Performing Arts in downtown Cincinnati. I then spent many years away from the arts, chasing other dreams around the world, and in 2012 picked up my first DSLR camera and r

eturned to my creative roots. Since turning professional in 2014, I have photographed over 60 major projects for one of the most well known names in luxury lifestyle. A full list of the brands, companies and organizations I have collaborated with is listed in the 'Accomplishments/Pubs' section. Most of my personal work is influenced by where I live along the eastern shore of Lake Ontario in upstate NY. The amazing 1000 Islands Region and the Canadian border are minutes to the north and the Adirondack Mountains are just to my east. When not on assignment I enjoy chasing my wife and two young children with a camera. Joe

Fall temps are more like our summer temps here in northern NY. I'm not complaining but I'm also looking forward to winter.

This is from a shoot of a couple hotels I did for Weekender Hotels in Lake Placid a couple weeks ago. The views from their fire pit are fantastic.

It’s always hard to choose just one, but if I had to, this is my favorite room from an amazing estate I photographed. The distant stone wall is actually a waterfall feature. The water starts at the top and cascades all the way down the entire front collecting in a pool at the bottom. It also hydrates the plants on the wall and lily pads below. On either side of the stone wall are passageways that goes behind the waterfall and connects to a fantastic dining room. The opposite direction, looking back behind where I stood to make this image, opens to a three season deck that touches the waters edge of a beautiful large pond. The rest of the images from this gig are on my website (same image header for the gallery as here).

This image is the result of two horizontal rows of 5 vertical image sections for each row. All 10 image portions were then stitched together to make this final composition.

My wife's family had a big reunion camping trip in Acadia. I think we were about 25 strong. On the last night we had a huge lobster cookout at our adjoining campsites. For some reason I thought it would be a good idea to check out "The Bubbles" at sunset instead. If I'm being honest I still regret that choice. Nonetheless, here's my take, and what stingy old Mother Nature gave me, at one of the most iconic locations in the park.

The Secret Garden

As a landscape photographer there are times when I have to deal with crowds and/or creating interest with a popular scene that has been viewed countless times. The challenge to “make it my own” can be gratifying or perhaps even daunting. As a luxury estate photographer, I am fortunate to explore settings that only the owners and their guests know.

Nestled deep within many hundreds of privately-owned acres of fields, gardens and ponds is this tiny moment. Driving by in a golf cart it could be lost or taken for granted when distracted by the rest of the sprawling estate. It’s just a tool shed buried within much grander scenes. While my main objective when photographing estates are the dwellings and amenities being offered for sale, the landscape lover in me cherishes the opportunity to turn loose my creativity on scenes such as this. While I usually spend 2-3 days on location for these massive gigs, there never seems to be enough time to sit and enjoy any one spot for very long. Thankfully I have the images to later satisfy my daydreams.

"Meirose family, party of...many, your accommodations are now ready."

This is from a dreamy morning while photographing "The Albedor" from a boat. It only took me 2 1/2 days to shoot the interior, exterior and grounds. Followed by two solid weeks of post-production mind numbing tedious editing. The Albedor is a classic representation of an Adirondack "great camp". There are not that many remaining and this monster is one of the best.

I'm glad whoever named the 3,000 lakes and ponds in the Adirondacks didn't stick to numbers. Imagine saying, "I'm headed to 2,237th Lake today."

Eye of the Beholder

I was really grateful for the timing of how this passing cargo ship collaborated with my shot. When the waterways finally thaw the 1000 Islands sees all types of boating activity. While some people are not fans of these huge cargo ships others love seeing them. So how about you? Love them, hate them, somewhere in between?
