🤎 The Light Finds You 🤎

There are moments when the light seems to find its way through, even when we aren’t looking for it.

The Light Finds You is a one-off original fine art photograph, inspired by my connection to the ocean and the ever-changing relationship between light, water and movement.

Created in a single continuous exposure using intentional camera movement and varied shutter speeds, I allow the light and movement of the ocean to paint naturally across the frame. The result is atmospheric and immersive, focusing more on capturing the feeling of a moment than simply documenting a place.

This piece is beautifully framed in American ash with a walnut stain and is on display at Kayu Studio in Mount Maunganui, where it is available to find its forever home.

It only just occurred to me that this year marks 8 years since my work first found a home at Art By The Sea Gallery in Takapuna.

Mike and Linda have sold many of my pieces over the years, but what I’m most grateful for is their unwavering encouragement and genuine passion for supporting New Zealand artists. They’re two of the kindest, most gentle souls, and it’s been such a joy working alongside them.

These are the current works I have available at the gallery if you’d like to take a look. If you’re in Auckland, it’s such a beautiful space to visit.

Nothing is added without purpose, and nothing is rushed.
The movement, the softness, the blur… all created to hold the feeling of motherhood as it is lived, not as it is posed.

It isn’t empty space, it’s breathing room.
