Hey all! Here is a small file of the buck I mentioned last week. Found him with dad late (Dec. 1) up in the high country on a timberline chasing does with another bruiser (bigger frame) buck who gave me very little. This is one of those images that I have envisioned my whole career. To me this kind of pay off is what makes the chase so exciting. The right buck in the right place at the right time :-). It seldom happens. Add that he was intact and healthy that late in the rut and it just makes you warm inside! I hope he made many babies this year. Merry Christmas everyone. Cheers!

Thought I would touch bases with my old FB peeps. I really miss much of my social media interactions. Especially this time of year. I’m still looking for a platform on which to land that will protect my digital assets and will not sensor my speech or track my personal info. Never thought in my life I would be typing those words! As an update, I am still chasing wildlife and while I didn’t get into many big bucks until late in the rut, it really heated up and I got what I think may be the prettiest bencleg (definitely top 5) up in the high country the last week of November. Deep snow and challenging lighting made it interesting, but after some patience, it paid off. So many good bucks late in the rut . Lots of editing to do. I will think about posting up a small file of the image to which I am referring. It is one of my favorite images of one of my favorite bucks I have ever photographed, It just speaks to me. Hope all is well with my FB family. Have a merry Christmas and a blessed new year!

Here he is a couple of years ago. I watched him bed down just before this pic. He was injured and stayed down until another buck came in behind me about 30 minutes later. One of the few times I have seen real fear in a mature buck's eyes. I'll have to post a frame I grabbed just before he got back to his feet. Both bucks were aware of my presence and neither left. I think I saved him another butt kicking that day!

Got him four years in a row! Always nice to see a special buck return to his rut season haunts. I don't believe this guy is any older than 6 1/2 years old. He is at that stage where his mass hasn't quite caught up with his frame. Next year, should I be so lucky, He should show up with a the total package. Fingers crossed :-). I will try to post up a montage of his growth over the years soon. I love sharing these images with my friends, but just to let you all know, I am not too sure about my future on FB (or the future of FB for that matter). Hopefully there will be an alternative that will be less intrusive than the Google surveillance program that is Facebook. Pretty sure all things Google will be history at some point regardless. Sorry about the wait. Been dying to get in some edit time and finally did. My favorite Blacktail of the 2020 rut. If he only hadn't broken those cheaters off his left side :-(. Got to spend limited time with this bruiser. Enjoyed every second of it though. I will have him out to the web for sale asap. Hoping you all have a Merry Christmas and an amazing 2021. Cheers!

I think I'm staying close to home again this year for the Rosies. There are more than a few shots I have been trying to nail down for years on the beach. Maybe this is my year ;-). Here is an edit I did today of a bull that should be in the running this September. Happy hump day all. Cheers!
