A little look at what I’m learning behind the camera.

I’ve been exploring studio photography and learning more about working with light, capturing movement, and finding my eye as a photographer.

Still learning, still experimenting, and enjoying the process of getting better with every opportunity.

Not every session needs to look the same.

Sometimes it’s blue hair, yellow boots and a little imagination.

Nothing about this says ordinary.

And that’s the fun of creating images - taking an idea, a personality or a vision and turning it into something you can actually see.

The last month has looked a little different for me.

I took a step back and gave myself some space to figure out what I really wanted this next season to look like.

A lot of early mornings. A lot of driving. A lot of time behind my camera. Learning, creating, trying new things and slowly finding my way through it all.

These are some of the moments that usually don’t make it to the feed.

Nothing perfect. Just a little look at what life has looked like lately and what I’ve been pouring my time into.

I’m excited to see where it takes me.

There’s a moment when I take a photo and already see more than what’s sitting on the back of my camera.

The light. The mood. The way I want the image to feel.

The edit is where I get to bring that vision all the way to life.

That’s one of my favorite parts of photography. Not just documenting a person or a moment but creating something that feels intentional and true to what we were trying to capture together.

One thing I’ve learned is that every person in front of my camera needs something a little different.

Some people have poses they already love. Some need more direction. Some just need a little conversation before they start feeling comfortable.

So I ask questions, pay attention, try different things and adjust as we go.

Because photography isn’t just about getting the shot.

It’s about creating an experience where you can actually feel like yourself in front of the camera.

We may be way past T-ball season but I had an idea and had to bring it to life.

A little T-ball. A little personality. A whole lot of him.

Because sometimes the best photos aren’t the ones where you see everything. They’re the ones that make you feel something.

Because of a recent court ruling, I’ve decided I’m no longer going to share children’s faces on my photography page, which meant taking down a lot of the work I’ve shared.

I will still be taking children's photos, just not sharing their faces on social media.

So I’m starting over a little and rebuilding my portfolio.

While I do, I’m opening up 5-10 sessions for $50.

15 minutes • 5–15 edited images • one location

Just a small way to rebuild, create, and meet some new faces along the way.
