Wishing you a lovely Jubilee long weekend. Full of celebrating and laugher.

Well, it had to be red, white and blue flowers didn’t it. My pastel art of Union Jack. Hubby’s homemade bakewell pudding, Jubilee summer fruit gin and Prosecco. Oh yes and the gorgeous Coronation cup from

How’s your weekend? I’ve been planting some seeds. The beautiful Cosmos, Rudbeckia and Zinnia are in seed trays. Then Yummy Ranunculus, bright red Lucifer and orange Emily Mackenzie Crocosmia are planted. Oh yes and dahlia (one of my favourites).

Watch this space. Hoping for a beautiful bloom soon. Keep you posted.

New cold frame arrived so I can start seedlings.

Perfect place for it as we have always struggled to get plants to survive here with dogs jumping on flower bed (oh dear). Luckily the yellow Asters are safe for the moment.

Exciting times ahead.

Been a busy day, went to garden centre and well got slightly more than just 1 plant lol.

I have spent the whole afternoon digging out a new flower bed ready for cutting flowers to use for photography, flower pressing and illustrations. Plus hubby planted some new veggies in raised bed. Now love this side of the garden as we didn’t use it much before. Watch this space.

Happy Sunday my lovelies. How’s your weekend?

I’m having a chilling type of day, going to local garden centre for breakfast with hubby and a little flower inspiration. I’m sure I’ll come back home with a plant, if lucky.

I took this photo the other day during a dog walk, beautiful sun shining through trees, creating bokeh. This photo really encapsulates nature, with a web telling a story of where a spider had once been. The random orange leaf in amongst the rich greens, giving a reminder to us that life evolves and grows. It’s ok to be different and stand out from others. Completely beautiful.

What have you noticed whilst out on walks? Comment below.

The beautiful Iris...
It has always been one of my favourite flowers. They're so elegant and striking. They come in different shapes from Siberian iris to bearded iris. With such a wide choice of amazing colours.

Some interesting facts about the Iris:
- The national flower of France (fleur de lys).
- It's a genus of 260-300 species.
- It's name comes from the Greek word for a rainbow and goddess, Iris.
- Classified under two groups: Bulb iris and rhizome iris.
- Iris essential oil are used in aromatherapy.
- Gin brands such as Bombay Sapphire have used iris flowers for flavour and colouring.
