New year. Same woman. Different way of showing up.

Before the camera turns on, most women lead with self-critique. This year, I’m choosing something different — presence, honesty, and taking up space without shrinking.

The work I do helping women show up confidently on camera is the same work I’m doing for myself. Growth doesn’t happen quietly. It happens when we decide to be seen.

Remember that shoot I had to do of myself last winter?

I set up my tripod after an interview because needed some 3/4 length images of me for the promo. Fifteen clicks later, I had a handful of favorites and a whole lot of feelings.

Even as a photographer, I do not always love being in front of the lens. I had the same thoughts my clients share with me:

“What if someone says something”
“What if I do not like how I look”
“What if I post this and regret it”

But I posted anyway. And the love I received reminded me why I teach this work.
The photoshoot I am talking about is pinned at the top of my profile.

This clip is from my segment as a LUXE Advisor in Scottsdale, where I spoke about visibility and confidence in business with my coach .boydgill . The messages I give other women hit me just as hard in my own studio.

Confidence is not about perfection. It is the step you take even when your stomach flips.

If you have been waiting for the “perfect moment,” consider this your reminder that done is better than delayed.

Happy Birthday to this beauty right here!
After .inchief cut her locs, I knew this moment deserved more than just a rebrand—it needed to feel like a celebration.
So I gently nudged her to step outside with me for a few additional birthday pictures! What she thought would be “just a photoshoot” turned into something deeper.
Watching her light up, lean in, and own her next chapter was the real gift.
Cheers to new beginnings, softness, strength—and a year full of beautiful surprises. 🫶🏾

Today, I stepped way out of my comfort zone! I filmed an episode of with , and when she asked for a full-length photo for promo… I realized I didn’t have one! Thankfully, my niece (and MUA) was available to get me camera-ready, so I took full advantage—because a full beat and a cute outfit deserve to be documented!

Y’all, I HATE being in front of the camera, so filming and taking pictures of myself in the same day? Whew, it was a lot. But I did it! Pushing through those little moments of discomfort is always worth it.
