Worth every single second of waiting. 🌅

I'd driven from Italy that morning from another stunning mountain shoot. Set up on the pier at Le Palace De Menthon Annecy with hours to spare. Spent that time very professionally scouting the location, testing angles, and absolutely not having a cheeky dip in the lake beforehand.

Then the waiting began. Gently mentioning it to swimmers that a proposal was about to take place Holding my breath as one man (not from the hotel) sprinted the length of the pontoon and launched himself into the lake approximately thirty seconds before Jeremy and Bella arrived.
Thankfully, the moment was safe. And what a moment it was.

Lac d'Annecy at golden hour. The most beautiful hotel grounds I've ever set up in. And two people utterly in their own world.

This is what I do. And I love every ridiculous, stressful, beautiful second of it. 🏔️

Ten years married. Still choosing each other. Still showing up.

Todd and Avery came to Chamonix to celebrate their tenth anniversary — high school sweethearts who've been in love since before they knew what that really meant. They wanted a day that felt as big as what they'd built together.
So we started in the town, walked the cobblestones, found flowers and church corners and light filtering through the old streets. And then we hiked up above the valley to a place most people never find — a glacier lake at 2,000m, the whole Mont Blanc massif laid out behind them like it had been arranged just for this.

That dress. Those mountains. That moment.
Ten years looks good on them. 🏔️

He planned the whole trip as one surprise after another...
Paris, Morocco, Nice. Then — chose Annecy for the proposal.

Pont des Amours captured his imagination. With the lake turning turquoise in the morning light and a bouquet of orange roses waiting on the railing, Michael got down on one knee.

She had no idea.

I've photographed a lot of proposals. A lot. And this one — the thought that went into it, the way he built the whole trip around that moment, the absolute eruption of joy on her face when she realised — this one will stay with me.

Annecy isn't just a beautiful backdrop. It's one of the most romantic places in France, and the Pont des Amours is exactly what the name promises.

Planning something similar? I photograph proposals across the French Alps — Chamonix, Annecy, Megève, DM me and let's make it happen.

Six people. Four kids. And approximately ten thousand flies that nobody warned us about. 🪰

Deanna's family came to Chamonix on a summer trip and wanted photos that actually felt like where they were — not a studio, not a car park, not a restaurant terrace. So we took the lift up above the valley while the wildflowers were at their absolute peak, and let the mountains do what mountains do.
What I didn't anticipate: the flies. Spectacular, ridiculous, absolutely relentless flies. At one point I had one stuck between my face and my viewfinder for a solid few seconds while trying to compose a shot.

And that's the thing about these sessions — the chaos is part of it. That stuff is real. And it's the stuff that makes these photos worth cherishing.

If your family is visiting the Alps this summer — there's still time. DM me or find the link in bio. 📩

She suggested climbing over an electric fence to get a better photo.

That's the kind of energy I love in a couple. Taylor and Josh came all the way from Australia to get married in the French Alps, and from the moment we met, they were completely up for everything. Every wild idea. Every hidden meadow. Every last drop of golden light.

Their ceremony was beside a lake near Annecy. Handwritten vows in a leather-bound notebook. A handful of the people who matter most. Their friend's baby stealing the show. And a groom in olive green with an orange rose who couldn't stop smiling.

But the evening — the evening was something else.
If you've been in the Alps this spring, you know we had some wild weather. This particular evening decided to be the exception. Warm air, long golden light, and wildflower meadows that looked like someone had styled them on purpose. We wandered through the fields until the sky turned pink and the mountains went quiet.

This is what spring weddings in the Alps are made of. Long evenings. Wild flowers at your feet. Snow still on the peaks. And the kind of light that makes you want to stay out until midnight.

If you've been dreaming about a May or June wedding in the mountains, this is exactly what it can look like. My free Chamonix Elopement Guide covers everything — link in bio 🏔️

They both had the same idea. Neither one knew.

Hannah and Sam came to Chamonix from Canada and somewhere during their trip, they both got down on one knee. Separately. Secretly. Both completely convinced they were the one doing the surprising.

I can't think of anything more perfect than that.
When two people are so certain about each other that they both plan a proposal without telling the other — that's not a coincidence. That's two people who just know.

We spent an afternoon together in the mountains above Chamonix — snow still on the ground, spring light filtering through the larches, and the kind of laughter that echoes off granite. They were so easy to photograph. Not because they were "good in front of the camera" — they'll probably tell you they're not — but because they were so completely themselves with each other that I barely had to direct them.

That's what happens when the connection is real. The camera just catches what's already there.

I photograph love in every form it takes. If you're planning something in the Alps — an elopement, a proposal, or just a day to celebrate each other in the mountains — I'd love to hear from you.

I need to tell you about the Jack Russell.
Palmer had planned this proposal down to every detail. A sunrise meadow beneath Mont Blanc. A bouquet of flowers placed in exactly the right spot — something I help arrange so that when the moment comes, everything is already in position.
I was hidden. Tracking them on WhatsApp. Flowers set. Camera ready.
And then I saw it. A Jack Russell. Bounding across the field. Heading straight for the bouquet with that look in his eye. You know the one.

I broke cover. Sprinted. Chased that dog away before he could leave his mark on what was about to become the most important bouquet of Taylor's life.
Nobody saw. Palmer had no idea. Taylor definitely had no idea. The Jack Russell looked offended.
And then — minutes later — Palmer got down on one knee in a meadow full of wildflowers, with the Aiguille du Midi towering behind them, and asked the question.
She said yes. Obviously.

This is what I love about proposal photography. The chaos behind the calm. The invisible work that makes the magic look effortless. And the stories you'd never know existed if your photographer didn't tell you.

Spring in Chamonix is the most underrated season for proposals. The meadows are in bloom, the mountains are still snow-capped, the light is soft and golden, and the tourists haven't arrived yet. It's just you, the mountains, and maybe a rogue terrier.

The night before your wedding doesn't have to be about nerves and checklists.
What if it looked like this instead?
Tori and Jacob hiked up to Emosson Dam the evening before their ceremony for a golden hour shoot — just the two of them, the mountains, and the kind of light that makes you forget the rest of the world exists.
This is one of my favourite things to offer couples. A pre-wedding session at a location most people will never see. No guests, no schedule, no pressure. Just you two, getting comfortable in front of the camera and exploring somewhere breathtaking together.
By the time your wedding day arrives, you already know how this works. You've already laughed together in front of my lens. You've already had that moment where you look at each other and think — we're actually doing this.
And I get to know you too. How you move together. What makes you laugh. Where to stand so the light catches you just right.
By the time the lanterns came out and the sky turned dusky blue, these two were completely in their element. Relaxed, connected, and utterly themselves.
If you're planning an elopement or intimate wedding in the Alps, a pre-wedding golden hour session is the best thing you can add. I know the hidden spots, the timing, and the trails that get you there.

They went to the same school. Walked the same corridors. And never once noticed each other.
Years later, Megan was scrolling through a dating app and stopped. "Wait… do I know you?"
She did. They'd been in each other's lives all along — they just hadn't found each other yet.
What started as a match turned into something neither of them expected. They fell fast. And hard.
But it wasn't the easy moments that told Megan this was it. It was the hard ones.
When she broke her hip skiing in Chamonix, George didn't flinch. He was there — steady, patient, her person. No drama, no hesitation. Just love, showing up exactly when it mattered most.
Because being in love when everything's good? That's the easy part. Staying in love when life gets tough — that's where the truth lives.

Their winter wedding in Chamonix was everything they are. Snow falling, laughter that echoed off the mountains, details that Megan had poured her heart into, and a groom in burgundy velvet who couldn't stop smiling.
This is what happens when two people stop looking and start seeing.
