Maybe that’s how it was always meant to be. The best things were never meant for everyone. Here, everything is raw, true and untouched. The people don’t pretend to be anything they’re not.

Punta Gorda and I go way back. I can’t walk its streets without running into family or a friend. The love in the south reminds you never to lose faith in people. Kindness runs through them, through and through.

Our flag is one of the most colorful flags in the entire world! Most nations keep it simple with 2-4 colors, but Belize carries around 12: blue, red, white, green, brown, tan and more, mostly packed into that coat of arms. What makes our flag even more special is the fact we’re one of the only countries whose flag shows real people standing side by side, tools in hand, honoring the mahogany trade that built this nation.

We are defined by our people and that’s what we wanted to highlight in this series. This is our flag. This is who we are.

Look at us, we’re all Belize 🤩🇧🇿

The best part of Xunantunich isn't standing on top of El Castillo. 🌅 It's realizing that every step upward is a step backward through time.

The staircase you're climbing has carried rulers, priests, builders, archaeologists, and curious travelers. For over a millennium, people have climbed for different reasons, but almost everyone reaches the top and does the same thing...they stop talking.

Maybe it's the endless view across western Belize. Maybe it's the sunset settling over the jungle. Or maybe it's the quiet realization that some places don't lose their power. They simply continue to leave people in awe ~ 🌿🇧🇿

Hidden deep within the Chiquibul Forest, Caracol was once one of the most powerful cities in the ancient Maya world. More than a thousand years later, it continues to change the way we see Maya civilization.🇧🇿

At its height, Caracol was home to more than 100,000 people, covered roughly 200 square kilometers, and even defeated the great city of Tikal in A.D. 562, proving it was one of the dominant powers of its time.
