A Special Welcome Home for Hope in Malie 🇼🇸
Miss Samoa Hawaii 2026, Hope Faith Kaumatule, was warmly welcomed to the village of Malie, where the village matai hosted a special ava ceremony in her honor.
The occasion was a beautiful celebration of Hope’s connection to her Malie roots, with the high chiefs expressing their pride in Hope and her family. They also shared their appreciation for Hope’s genuine desire to reconnect with and honor her Samoan heritage and her beloved village of Malie.
For one of the matai, the occasion was particularly significant. He shared that in all his years, this was the first time he had witnessed such a special moment take place in the village — making Hope’s visit and journey for the Miss Samoa one that will be remembered by the people of Malie.
For Hope, the faaaloalo shown by the high chiefs, her family, and the people of Malie was a deeply humbling and treasured experience. She expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome and the love shown to her as she continues her journey.
As Hope carries the pride of Malie, the love of her family, and the prayers of her people with her, she will carry this special moment in her heart as she prepares to compete in the Miss Sāmoa Pageant 2026.
From Malie to Hawaiʻi, Hope continues to represent with faith, grace, purpose, and pride.
