Tuy nhiên, đúng vào thời điểm biến đổi đầy ảnh hưởng trong năm 2020, Dzũng Yoko đã tìm thấy thời gian dành cho chính mình, mở ra cơ hội để đắm chìm vào sâu thẳm tâm hồn, khám phá những giằng xé tinh tế và tìm lời giải cho những dấu hỏi mênh mông bên trong mình. Nhị Nguyên, a concept referenced by ancient philosophers such as Laozi and Heraclitus, reflects the inseparability of opposing aspects. This profound notion holds significance across various domains, from philosophy, ethics, and religion, to physics and cosmology, intertwined with our everyday lives.
This book is not merely a journey into the higher dimensions of Dualities; it is also a self-inquiry into Dzung Yoko's inner psyche. Through a dialogue with himself and observing life's manifold expressions, he meticulously pieced together the polarities, translating the essence of Dualities through his vibrant photographic language. While "Kindred" portrays the reflection of harmonious souls—even when it's a shadow of oneself—as a reminder of the fortune of human existence, that we are not alone, "Self-island" underscores the truth that "There is only one sure companion that will stay with me till the end of days, and that is myself." It reinforces the idea that relying on intrinsic values is the sole path to weathering storms.
Where "Flow" engages with the profound stillness of the mind, a sanctified realm near mindfulness, "Stir" ventures into the sensual world, where the keenness of senses flourishes, discreet vibrations and private emotions are laid bare. If "Light" symbolizes vitality, joy, positive energy, reassurance, trust, and the human desire to strive and hold on, "Shadow," in contrast, delves into profound depths, scorching desert storms, fragments, breathlessness, despair, screams—the darkest aspects humans wish to avoid. Meanwhile, "Endless Spring" metaphorically alludes to the finiteness of each moment, where one is immersed in nostalgia and a sense of loss, and if the "Garden of the Mind" sows seeds of serenity, bathed in sunlight, a vibrant garden blooms. Conversely, sinking into the profound night, abandoned to self-creation and destruction, creates a chilling garden filled with unease.
Dzung Yoko masterfully encapsulates the essence of polarities through composition, colors, lighting, attire, concept, and makeup style, sometimes overtly, sometimes allegorically. This interplay, even in color contrasts between the subject and background, carries intention. Placing complementary original shades adjacent not only elevates the image, making it vivid and captivating, but also defines distinct boundaries without compromise, implying the enduring, independent existence of Dualities.
This book transcends mere artistry; it imprints the essence of harmony, balance, and the presence of all facets of life.
