Senior photos on the moodier side.
This session entailed a 2 hour slot, up to 4 outfit changes, and the opportunity for various locations. We ended up staying in one location, but ventured to different areas of Upper Macatawa Natural Area to find different feels.
I wanted to make sure I was able to have A express herself during this session, so that meant getting to know her beforehand. Like with all clients, I had exchanges before receiving a deposit to ensure all parties felt like it was a good fit. After multiple conversations I felt like I understood who A was and what she and her mom were looking for in a session and a photographer.
After suggesting a few different areas, we settled on the Upper Macatawa Natural Area since A was going to go to college for Environmental Conservation, I felt this would be a great place to show her love and comfort in nature.
The session itself was light and natural. Posing in front of a camera isn't natural for everyone, and that's where having a basic understanding of who my client is really helps me as a photographer. This gives me a good base to ensure conversation between us flows and that shows through to the final product.
I don't want sessions to feel forced or uncomfortable so I do what I can to ensure each client has a unique positive experience. I do have most of my sessions that are Lifestyle inspired instead of straight posing. However, I will always give you guidance so you don't feel overwhelmed or lost. I will also listen to your guidance if you're looking for a specific pose to be captured.
