I've been dying to actually get outside, at the right time, with the right clear sky, with the moon gone... for so long. Tentatively planned to make this happen this summer with friends while camping.

BUT

I was awake enough... had seen how clear the sky was... spotted a couple of shooting stars.. and decided this was the night. I didn't have a camping trip, or a buddy with me...

I did it anyways.... Headed out where I know the skies are big and open with spots from the roads so I don't have to go trek out in the woods alone.... And it did not disappoint!

Very first attempt at a stitched panorama night sky... and the Milky Way even joined us.

I have some practice to do still. But I'm loving it!

Can anyone local guess where this is?! If you turn your brightness all the way up and zoom into the bottom you should be able to see the road a bit still. Only a select few will have an idea, I bet!

I can’t.
Wow. This girl is growing a pretty amazing heart. She’s starting to open her eyes up to the world around her in a new way. It’s pretty amazing to watch. I mentioned in my happy birthday post to her on my personal page that she: pushes on my “you need to grow” buttons like she was handed the manual by God himself.

She’s a great kid, extremely talented, so smart, and has a beautiful emotional strength and curiosity that brightens this world. She’s even having to figure out how to work through hard things.. and sometimes it really breaks my heart. Other times I’m happy she’s learning lessons while she’s still insulated at home!

She may not always take my correction with grace, but she does it about as well as a 10 year old can and I’m thankful for those moments!!
..Enjoy your 10th year my dear, I am so excited to see all the wonderful things God keeps using you for as you gain responsibility and spiritually mature! I love you so much!

I told her what I wrote about her and she said: awe thanks mom!! One day I’ll write things like that about you when I get a phone.
Hahaha I told her she can do it on paper - and she corrected herself. She said - no I just mean I’ll POST them a lot 😉 haha

The ability to realize life outside of your direct interactions is huge. Think about the ripples that result after your choices, conversations.... Isn’t it possible that a few ripples away, something you said, a way you handled yourself, or some way you treated someone - could incredibly impact your life later, someone in crisis, or inspire someone making a positive decision that may change the course of their life.
Keep your impact in mind. Remember to have empathy for those around you who may watch you, or be affected later by how you carry yourself. The world is bigger than us, and we have the blessed privilege to help light this dark world and impact it for good!

🤔💫 help me decide... which do you prefer?? black & white? or color for this sweet fresh 48 image??

💖 there is just something nostalgic about the colors of a hospital blanket... and the color of the wood on the little bassinets...

☝️ BUT

💖 there's also *just something* about a black and white photo of a baby sleeping!!

in all reality - mom and dad will probably get both.. because I love them equally!!
