A little important gallery housekeeping 🤍

I was recently notified that PASS, the online gallery platform I have used for many years to deliver your photos, will be shutting down.

Because of this, if you have a previously delivered wedding or session gallery through PASS, please take some time to download your full gallery and make sure your images are safely backed up before October 31.

I will be moving to a new gallery platform for all future gallery deliveries, but previously delivered PASS galleries will NOT be transferred to the new platform. Once PASS closes, those galleries will no longer be available online.

If you’ve already downloaded and safely backed up your images, there is nothing you need to do! 🤍

If you haven’t — or if you’re honestly not sure where you saved them all those years ago — now is a really good time to log back into your gallery, download everything, and save a copy somewhere safe.

As always, online galleries are intended for delivery and are not permanent photo storage. I highly recommend keeping your images backed up in more than one place so those memories are always safe with you.

I will only have access to PASS galleries through October 31, so please don’t wait until the last minute.

This change does not affect any upcoming sessions, weddings, or future gallery deliveries. It’s simply a little housekeeping as I say goodbye to a platform that has delivered a whole lot of memories for me over the years. 🤍

I’ve been grappling with something for the last few months when it comes to my business and social media.. kiddos

The internet is such a different place than it was when I started photography, and as a mom myself, I’ve found myself thinking more and more about what it means to put a child’s face online when they’re too young to really understand what that means.

With some of the recent Supreme Court rulings and the conversations happening around AI-generated images involving children, it really pushed me to make a decision about something that has already been weighing pretty heavily on me.

Moving forward, I’m going faceless with minors on my business social media.

Nothing about the way I photograph your family is changing. I’m still photographing newborns, babies, milestones, families and all of the little faces and expressions that make those images so special. Your galleries will still look exactly like they always have.

The difference is what I choose to put on the internet afterward.

I’ll still share the tiny toes, the hands holding yours, the back of their curls, the snuggles, the details, the movement and all of those moments that tell the story without needing to show their face.

I know I can’t control the internet. I can’t control what happens with every image once it’s out there. But I can control what I put there through my business.

And the more I’ve thought about it, the more I’ve realized that I don’t need a child’s face on my social media to show you how much I love photographing families.

Over the next little while, I’ll also be making changes across my social media and website to reflect this decision, and I’ll be taking additional steps to make client galleries more secure moving forward.

And I want to make this really clear for my past families too — if you have previously given me permission to share photos of your children and you would now feel more comfortable having those images removed, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. No explanation needed. I will make sure they come down.

This just feels like the right decision for me, my business, and the families who trust me with some of the most important people in their lives.
