Beautiful Gull sitting on a nest with Lovatnet lake and mountains forming the backdrop made a composition worth stopping for and admiring the scene.

Today in history!!
On this day, June 30th 1864, President Lincoln signed the Yosemite land grant protecting the Mariposa Grove and Yosemite Valley.
Glacier point is expected to open on July 1st this season. This photo was taken last year to capture sunrise 🌅 [sunburst!!] illuminating the Half Dome and the sunbeam piercing through the High Sierra peaks in Yosemite NP.

Stormy evening in Lofoten Islands

A unique place in the remote rugged Arctic region where one can experience remote rugged beauty filled with beautiful beaches, small fishing villages, and mountains.
Weather in Lofoten islands can change very quickly. During our 3 day stay, we saw a lot of variation with gale force winds and overcast days and also got to experience midnight sun.
This is a classic shot of Eliassen Rorbeur, with tall Granite peaks forming the backdrop. The word "rorbeur" stands for traditional Norwegian fisherman accommodation. To capture the cloudy evening with high winds, I used a long exposure shot.
