There’s a quiet force shaping our lives every single day… our thoughts.

Throughout the day, we’re constantly choosing—often unconsciously—between thoughts that limit us and thoughts that liberate us. One keeps us small, safe, and stuck. The other expands what’s possible.

I’ve seen this principle play out again and again in my own life.
When I had a crystal-clear vision of what I wanted—when I could see it, feel it, and step into it mentally as if it had already happened—that’s when things started to move. Not magically… but powerfully and intentionally.

The biggest example? My shift from a career in IT staffing to becoming a Headshot Photographer.
If I had listened to the limiting beliefs—my own or others’—I wouldn’t have made the leap. And yes… some people definitely questioned my sanity 🤪. But I held onto the vision. I held to liberating thoughts.

And that brings me to Jenna.

I met Jenna Jansen about 6 years ago during her very first headshot session with me. What stood out immediately wasn’t just her presence—it was her clarity. She had a vision for her life and career that was bold, driven, and deeply grounded. She’s brilliant, fun, caring, and someone who shows up fully—both in her work and for her family.

Jenna doesn’t cling to limiting beliefs. Her thoughts are liberating.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of photographing her family, capturing meaningful moments—including a beautiful father/son portrait with her husband and father-in-law—and then, this past December, we created a new set of Headshots together.

Jenna was coming for new Headshots that represented her vision.

She wasn’t in the new role yet… but she could already see herself there. She could feel it. Leading, thriving, and driving her organization forward.

And now?

She’s officially stepped into that vision as Vice President of Operational Excellence at WellSpan Health.

That’s the power of thought.

See the future before it arrives.
Don’t let fear—or anyone else’s doubt—keep you from what you know is possible. Hold to liberating beliefs.

I've been waiting for this one! 📸😎

Four years ago, Tim found me here on LinkedIn, started following my work, and began trusting me with something important—his team. Since then, he’s sent multiple people my way for headshots, and every single time, that trust has meant everything.

This week, I finally had the chance to meet Tim in person.
And yeah… it felt like meeting someone I’d already known for years.

Getting him in front of my camera wasn’t just another session—it was the moment to create a headshot that truly matched the leader he is. Confident, approachable, and the kind of presence people naturally trust.

Tim, thanks for your trust and support of my work. I am very grateful.

This is what it’s all about. 🙌

Confident.Experienced. Credible. Evolving.

Now Evan has a Headshot that is aligned with who he is today:

To people who don't know you, your current Headshot is a reflection of who you are at this present moment. They don't know if your photo is 10+ years old. They think your current Profile Pic is a reflection of:

* Your current position
* Your current confidence level
* Your current direction

If you have changed… your headshot should too!

Thanks for trusting me to capture your awesomeness, Evan... And all the best in your new role!

There’s something powerful about a team showing up with intention—investing in how they present themselves, aligning their image with who they are today, and where they’re going next.

Your headshot isn’t just a photo. It’s a reflection of your growth, your confidence, and your story as it evolves.

Thank you Jolynn, Angela, and team at Community Benefits Solutions for allowing me to capture a part of that journey. 🙏
And to all of my clients, past and present… I appreciate you, and I’m incredibly grateful for the trust you place in me.

Let’s keep growing. 🚀

Authority & Presence. A great Headshot doesn’t just show what you look like — it communicates confidence, credibility, and leadership in a split second.

Jonathon’s Headshot is a perfect example of that quiet authority:

✔ Calm
✔ Approachable
✔ Decisive

In a digital-first world, your headshot often speaks before you do.
Make sure it’s saying the right things.

🚨 WARNING: EXPIRED HEADSHOT 🚨
Best if used by: September 2015

Yep… this is me.
The photo on the left was my first professional selfie headshot, taken in September 2014.
The photo on the right? Taken today.

I’ve changed.
My confidence changed.
My face definitely changed. 😂

So instead of embarrassing one of my clients, I decided to embarrass myself.

Here are 3 big reasons your headshot (and profile pic) has an expiration date 👇

1️⃣ You don’t look like that anymore
Weight changes, hair changes, glasses, beard, confidence — it all adds up.
When someone meets you in real life and thinks, “Huh… that’s not who I expected,” trust takes a hit.

2️⃣ Style ages faster than you think
Lighting trends, backgrounds, wardrobe, and posing evolve.
An outdated headshot quietly says “I haven’t updated things in a while” — even if you’re great at what you do.

3️⃣ First impressions are digital now
Before meetings.
Before interviews.
Before referrals.
Your headshot often meets people before you do — and it should reflect who you are now, not a past version.

I used my own headshot history as an example because:
No clients were harmed in this post 😄

And yes, posting my first attempt at a professional selfie from 2014 is mildly traumatic. But, hey! I was just learning and we all start somewhere.

If your current photo wouldn’t pass a “Best If Used By” label…
I have a new one waiting for you. 📸

🪪 Has your profile pic expired?

Just like milk, headshots have a shelf life.
And here’s the rule of thumb: If it no longer looks like you… it’s expired. 😄

Alyssum was last in my studio 6 years ago.
Awesome then. Still awesome now.

But her new headshot? Even better than the old one.

Faces change. Hair changes. Style changes. Confidence definitely changes.
Your LinkedIn photo should reflect who you are now, not who you were three jobs ago.

If your profile photo makes people say:

- “Oh wow, that was taken a while ago…”
- “You look different in person!”
- or “Is that even you?”

…it might be time for an update.

📸 Fresh headshot = current you = stronger first impression.
So be honest — has your profile pic expired? 👀

Sometimes the next step isn't upward-it's inward.

So much of our identity becomes wrapped up in what we do. The longer we stay in a role, the more the title, responsibility, and external validation begin to define us. Success deepens the lane, and before we realize it, the path forward can feel predetermined.

But occasionally, the bravest move isn't climbing higher-it's pausing long enough to look within and ask whether the trajectory still aligns with who we've become.

Rachel did exactly that.

After years as a Senior HR Executive and CHRO for multi-billion dollar organizations, she chose to step away from corporate leadership and bet on herself- leveraging her experience, discernment, and standards of excellence into a new career as an esthetician.

Megan (my Makeup Artist) and I have worked with Rachel for many years capturing powerful Corporate Headshots for her and her teams. We were so excited to work with her on a more comprehensive branding session to capture her courage, confidence, style, and passion for the next chapter.

She's usually behind the scenes in my work, but I finally got Megan in front of my camera!

If you've ever been in my studio and felt instantly calmer, more grounded, and at ease - there's a good chance Megan was a part of that experience. Her energy is steady, warm, and genuinely calming. Clients feel it the moment they sit in her chair.

That's what people love about her. She doesn't rush you. She doesn't overwhelm you. She creates a space where you can just relax and be yourself.

And that is exactly how she approaches her art.

Megan's makeup isn't about changing who you are - it's about lifting what's already there. Enhancing your natural features. Letting you still look like you. Authentic, confident, and comfortable in your own skin.

I am grateful to have her on my team and call her my friend.
