Oh, 2026. Where the heck did you come from already?
The last bit of 2025 was a doozy, and I felt myself swept away in all of the craziness. Part of that is par the course for a photographer, as most of us find ourselves swept up in the holiday bustle along with you all. But the other part comes from the changes in my own life and what I'm looking forward to in 2026.
To be clear, I'm not going anywhere! However, I will be absent late spring/summer as we welcome the newest member of our family. Baby Golihew 2.0 is expected the beginnning of June, but this job can be hard on the body so I will take things in stride. I plan to work as long as I can, and I'm lucky to have grown a good support network of assistants and additional photographers over the past couple of years. Don't worry, I'll still be behind the screen, organizing everything and editing all of photos so you have the same quality of service and artwork as before.
But we're not at that point yet! I'm still kicking, I promise. And after a brief break once our little gummy bear arrives, I'll be kicking again. Have a photoshoot or event in mind? Please don't be afraid to hit me up, I'll let you know where things stand for me and I'll absolutely be in communication as time moves on, remaining clear on how I will be present for you and what to expect from me and my team.
Lastly, I just want to give a huge shout out to all of the wonderful people I worked with this past year. It's been a whirlwind, and you all brought something different and exciting and fun. Thanks for being amazing, and I appreciate you all. I'm already looking forward to working with some of you all again in the coming year, and I'm excited to meet some new faces as well!
