Old York, Pa. Photographs & Current Images Getting a collection of old pix of York together for everybody to see. I am using current images too. I am using current images as well.

Currently about 400 images. Feel free to upload any images that I do not have, or to help identify information about any existing images. Looking mainly for good color pix of downtown York in the 1940s to 1960s. I would also like to get good pictures of Sweigart's Photo Shop, and Photo Greetings in the 1940s or 50s. Photo credits will be added as I get, and confirm the information. All of the phot

ographs were restored with countless hours of photo editing software. Compare image quality these to the same shots from stray intranet searches, or original scans.

A true time capsule of what the thrifty, bustling downtown York used to be (very reminiscent of the Patula Clark song that was popular in 1964). Even in the mid 1970s a lot of this was still in tact, although it was near the end. The nice thing is that some of these images go back four generations, and they are in color.
