Happy Friday! Today's Friday Series Theme is "Repetition." I said "Repetition!" In music, we can think of instances where a particular phrase or sound can add to the enjoyment of a particular song. For instance, think of the end of The Beatles "Hey Jude", where the phrase "na na na, na na na na, na na na na, Hey Jude..." repeats for several minutes. I have heard Paul McCartney play this in packed arenas many times, and consistently, the crowd joins in with the "na na na's" in a joyful chorus. Often in photography, repetition can add a similar visual interest to an image. I took four of these "repetition" photos in various Bucks County, PA locations, and the other six were taken during various travels (e.g. Italy; Savanah, Georgia; Yosemite National Park, California; Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Gettysburg National Military Park, Pennsylvania, and Ocean City, New Jersey.

This week's Friday Series theme is "Your head is in the clouds!" Clouds come in an infinite, ever changing variety of sizes, shapes, colors, and combinations. Interesting and beautiful clouds add so much to a scene. Sometimes they are the star of an image, and sometimes they serve in a supporting role. Here is a small collection of my cloud photographs. I took half of them in familiar Bucks County locations, and the other half were taken during various travels. As you look, feel free to hum Joni Mitchell's classic "Both Sides Now": "I've looked at clouds from both sides now; From up and down and still somehow; It's cloud illusions I recall; I really don't know clouds at all..."

Early yesterday morning, I took this photograph at the Virginia Forrest Recreation Area section of Delaware Canal State Park (a few miles north of downtown New Hope, in Bucks County, Pennsylvania). The canal was dry, other than grass, but the sides of the canal had a beautiful assortment of wildflowers. The bridge is actually the driveway into the park.

A few days ago, I took this photograph at Graeme Park, in Horsham, Pennsylvania. This is the historic "Keith House" reflected in the pond. As I looked for interesting perspectives for a photograph, this family of geese helped me out, as they wandered into the scene, and planted themselves along the edge of the little pond. It almost seemed that they were posing for me, until they decided it was time for their morning swim! The Keith House, was originally built in the 1720s, as a summer residence for Pennsylvania Governor, Sir William Keith (about half a century before the American Revolution).

Happy Friday! This week's Friday Series theme is "Flowers for Mom!" With Mother's Day fresh in our minds (and our family has another gathering this weekend), I wanted so share a series of my flower photographs as a tribute to all the moms, sisters, aunts, etc who bring so much to our lives. In particular, I wanted to send two big "thank yous" - first, to my mom, who continues to bring love, strength and inspiration to our lives at the youthful age of 101; and second to my wonderful wife. Our sons could not have a better mom! I am a truly lucky guy! The first photo in this series (the tulips) was taken in my mom's front yard, in New York, just over a decade ago. Most of the other images were taken in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, with a couple of additional photos (the Cotswolds, in England, and Piazza Navona, in Rome, Italy). Thank you, ladies!

Happy Friday! This week's Friday Series theme is "Bucks County Spring Reflections 2026." I took all of these photographs during the past four or five weeks, as the weather has (finally) started to warm up a bit. During these spring photo outings, I really didn't set out to focus on reflections. However, as I looked at my recent images, I realized that I had photographed various subjects in all kinds of water - The Delaware Canal, Pidcock Creek (in Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve), Lake Afton, the pond at Cuttalossa Farm, the lagoon in Washington Crossing, and the Delaware River. Finally, a post-rain puddle on Yardley's South Main Street served as a "body of water" for a refection of Trattoria Rosa Bianca (one of our favorite local restaurants!). As always, I'm curious if you have any particular favorites, or suggestions of other Bucks County spots which might offer nice reflections.

This is the West Trenton Railroad Bridge crossing the Delaware River between Yardley, Pennsylvania and Ewing, New Jersey. I took this photograph in the early morning, before sunrise, a couple of weeks ago. The sky had hints of color, and the trees were just beginning to open for the season.

Here is a shot I took a week or two ago at the Delaware Canal State Park in New Hope, PA (Bucks County). There was a gentle pre-sunrise mist coming off the water, and the trees were showing some lovely greens of early spring, all reflected in the slow-moving canal.

Early Saturday morning, I took a few photos at the Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve, in New Hope, PA (Bucks County). This is the historic stone arch bridge, crossing the Pidcock Creek. The bridge was built in 1935, during the Great Depression, with help from workers from a couple of federal programs, including the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). The setting had a peaceful feeling, as the bridge is reflected in the slow-moving creek, all surrounded by the soft greens of spring.

Good morning, Lambertville, New Jersey! This is yesterday morning's rising sun peaking around the buildings next to the Delaware and Raritan Canal, which are all reflected in the slow-moving canal. For photography enthusiasts, it is an HDR (high dynamic range) photograph from four exposures that I merged together.
