The display is an effort to draw attention to the people infected and killed by the coronavirus, said Leola Reeves, who proposed the field of flags. “What I want is for people to understand how many people are honestly affected by this,” she said.

"Neighborhood Health and the mission are handling medical patients differently in an effort to slow the spread of the virus.

Both agencies are screening people while they wait in their cars, and neighborhood health is providing drive-thru testing when warranted, said Rhonda Hauff, deputy CEO of Neighborhood Health."

Hundreds of Rocky Mountain elk gather for a feeding Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2020, at Oak Creek Wildlife Area near Naches, Wash. Feeding starts at 1 p.m. every day and a Discover Pass or WDFW Vehicle Access Pass is required to park at the site. Heavy snow last February and March brought down some 1,100 elk from Yakima’s shrinking herd to the Oak Creek site.
