The enchanting wonders of winter are often found on the cruelest of cold days.

It’s time to break the ice! I’m back after a long absence. It’s February 3, 2022, everything shut down due to the ice storm, giving me extra free time. So...

https://youtu.be/-sIXUbRFogQ ⇠ This is how I simplify a chaotic scene by zeroing in on either one flower or a cluster of flowers, isolating a bloom in the foreground and moving position to allow distracting branches and flowers to fade out in the background. Sometimes, I like to use flowers in the foreground to frame the subject in the distance. And, sometimes I love to play with my settings to use light and shadow - creating a dark background. I like to experiment and use the sky for backlighting or even light under a tree canopy. Usually I focus on the stamens in the center of the flower and let the rest fall out of focus where it may.

New video out today! ⌊Flower Photography⌉ Experimenting with Moody Tones https://youtu.be/0Fhk2k_clBI These shock-frozen Camelia flowers caught my attention when I went out to inspect the plants after our unusual subzero weather event a couple of weeks ago. In this video, I experiment with editing a few photos in Photoshop with a moody look.

https://youtu.be/xjs-bS-0eIk Years ago, when these ‘Rose of Sharon’ were blooming at the same time of year as it is now, (filmed in September 2020) I photographed a hummingbird for the first time, and ever since then, I wanted to return to the same place to try again. On this day I find birds, flowers, an insect wing, and other surprises to photograph.

https://youtu.be/-dJQLBapUdM Just uploaded :) Excuse the croaky-out-of-breath voice, I've been sick and so a short video (filmed a couple of weeks ago) will have to do :D

Spring comes early in the woods here every year, the trout lilies just came up and I had a short period of time on this day before sunset to capture them. Th...

The best family day we've had in a long time, it was great to get away and we highly recommend Robbers Cave State Park if you're ever in Oklahoma!

My family and I went for a hike in the dead of winter, on the darkest day of the year in Oklahoma at Robbers Cave State Park. The air was eerily still and co...
