This image is from when I was playing with concepts for my Obsidian Studios backdrop challenge entry. Red string has symbolic meaning in many different cultural traditions. Jewish folk tradition uses it as a way to ward off misfortune. Chinese tradition sees it as “strings of fate”. Buddhists may wear it as a reminder to show compassion in their words.

This image is a good example of how messy the act of creation is. I had a concept in mind that I just couldn’t quite translate how I wanted to. I’m sharing this anyway because I think there’s value in recognizing that art is not always an easy process.
