Years ago I took some photos of this beautiful girl in a wheat field. They were some of my first favorites. She and her sweet mom invited me to the Botanic Gardens and we had a fantastic time capturing her senior year photos. Scroll to the end for that sweet little girl photo! Maybe it's because it's my 'soon to be' phase of life-but taking pictures of families with older kids is kind of awesome. I like how relationships develop and change as families get older, and kids become adults. This crew was honestly the best, and also might win the award for most entertaining. 💛

The bitter-sweetness of senior year hits in full force today (at least for me). Class of 2022, graduation will be here before you know it, and your next chapters will begin. As you step into your final semester, remember that these four years are a very small blip in the timeline of your lives. The best is yet to come. Have a blast, be kind, make memories, and know that so many people believe in your abilities to be the amazing humans you were created to be.

I mean it's not like I'm known for my fabulous social media skills...but this time of year, I get a little overwhelmed trying to edit all the photos and get them back to their families before it's 2022. So if that's you, please know that I'm working on them. You're all so wonderful and every fall I pray that you are also patient.🤦‍♀️

There aren't too many words to say yet...just over here living in denial that this daughter of mine will start her senior year in a few days. I think maybe she nailed her first senior photo session. 💟Hands down, one of my favorite people...and not just because she's mine.

Sometimes, growing up in a small town, it's hard to believe you won't be friends forever with your school classmates. But most of us know by now, that lives change, miles divide, and you lose touch with most of them. This girl has been my friend since the 5th grade. We don't see each other often, but can pick up where we left off pretty easily- we bond over hating small talk-going right in for what's deep and meaningful in our lives since we last visited. I also have gotten to know her husband and gorgeous girls over the years...thanks for being a beautiful friend 20+ years later!

I used to pick this guy up from school. He would climb in the back of my mom car and duck down, making fun of the "not cool" factor as we drove away. Now he and this sweet, gorgeous, girl are not only planning their wedding, but more importantly their future together, and I couldn't be happier for them.
