C R Cain Photography P S Those who know me, call me Chip

C R Cain is a Landscape/Fine art photographer that finds himself as interested in the space he is standing on as much as the scene that stretches across the horizon before him.

I have been to the Oklahoma City bombing memorial twice. Both times between 3am and 4am in the morning. There is something about being there when it is so quiet and still. It really feels like sacred ground.

Some information:
The 168 Chairs represent those killed on April 19, 1995. They stand in nine rows, each representing a floor of the Federal Building where the field is now located. Each chair bears the name of someone killed on that floor. The nineteen smaller chairs stand for the children who were killed.

One of my trips to NYC unintentionaly oincided with an international parade. various ethnic groups gathered on various side streets preparing to march down Fifth Ave in all their historic regalia.

As usual I found myself drawn to the parts rather than the whole. This photo is the trailing portion of a beautiful gown worn by a vietnamese woman. More "parts" to come .

It is not only rock & flowers that catch my attention but building textures as well. Not often the whole building but rather the parts or sum of parts as when one building is congruent to another or seems to be woven into itself. This is an example of the later. It is part of a series I have titled Architexture and the whole series may be seen at my website.
