“So… where do we begin? Do you have any ideas on good locations? What do I wear?”

I can’t even tell you how many times I meet a new family and hear these exact questions, over and over - this time of year, especially!

This is also the time of year where I see updated photos of my tiniest friends after a long winter and hear that they’ve started talking, they have enough hair for a mohawk or pigtails, that they’ve started preschool.

This is the time of year some of my older kiddos tell me new preferred names or pronouns, what their plans are for after they graduate, new ideas they have for their hair or personal style that they aren’t sure if they can “pull off”. They have new concerns to tell me about, they ask me if I can remove the annoying zit that JUST popped up, if I can help them pose “so they don’t look awkward.”

And honestly? I never get tired of any of it. Ever.

And look… in a world where we all have cameras, hiring someone to take your photo is more than just someone else pushing a button, or viewing your family from a different perspective.
