Day 1: explored around the city, snapped a couple pics while eating at Hard Rock Cafe.
Day 2: Met voice actors Troy Baker and Nolan North, legendary horror filmmaker John Carpenter (was unable to get a picture, but am honored to have a personally signed Halloween movie poster) wrestling legend Rhyno, and also watched a House of Hardcore wrestling match hosted by Tommy Dreamer, and literally bumped into Scott Patterson from Gilmore Girls (no picture, poor guy was in a rush).

Two buildings, an underground tunnel, and a wall, but still cool, nonetheless. Definitely a cool creepy vibe.

According to an article on the Atlas Obscura website: "The prison was built in 1903 to house minor offenders such as drunkards and the like, and contained a fully-functioning co-op farm to keep them busy and productive. In addition to the prison-bound potatoes, the farm, which operated on 150 acres of a 914 acre site, also cultivated chickens and dairy cows, producing enough milk to sell to the nearby town of Worcester.
In addition to the farm facilities, the prison facility contained cell blocks, staff housing, and a water tower. In 1907 a tuberculosis hospital was added to the complex to treat the patients.
Due to the fact that the prison grounds were built on a drainage area for the local water supply the whole place was abandoned in 1934, left to crumble in the wood."

The cells were so tiny, even with my camera on a tripod in the doorway, I couldn't get a good angle to show how much space there...wasn't.

In recent years, park officials decided to add a security officer and $10 parking fee, due to drunken idiots littering and vandalizing property, as well as animal cruelty. Literally every square inch of ground was covered in broken glass and beer cans. I was surprised to not find any syringes or needles.
Still a really cool site and very accessible, although even at 20mph, we were pretty sure the moon-crater roads were going to eat our tires or our axle. We spent a good hour here and I highly recommend it to anyone who may visit and is looking for nifty hidden treasures to explore.

Many of these didn't turn out as well as I was hoping, because Lizzy and her camera don't function in low light, but they still capture the moment for me. (I shot in continuous frames so I'm hoping I can run various edits and salvage something on these. So yes, I'm aware there are 3-4 of the same pictures lol)

I had one of the best nights ever hanging out and rocking out with my favorite people. To be temporarily transported to another realm through music and lyrics is always a beautiful journey and I enjoyed my third trip to Mortem so very, very much.

These are the sweetest, most hardworking and passionate people who excel at their artistry and I couldn't be more thankful for all they do for us fans, treating us truly like family and making time for every Child of Fate.

I was so happy to hug my musical big sis and brothers again and to lose my voice and hearing and my heart all over again. (Naturally, no SM experience would be complete with Lizzy making an idiot of herself, on her favorite song, no less.)

Do yourself a favor and attend a Soul Collection, and experience a show both intimate and intense unlike any other. \m/

It's been a while since I've seen my brothers in musical arms, and in spite of being very ill, it was one of the most breathtaking concerts I've experienced.

The stage setup for this tour is so unique and the production and surprises were phenomenal. I wasn't expecting the powerful introduction that roused the entire arena as David's intro from the Decade of Disturbed dvd played, describing Disturbed's meaning and mission, I wasn't expecting the pyro strips during Inside the Fire that dropped mere feet from our faces with tremendous HEAT, and I wasn't expecting the overwhelming emotions during Hold On To Memories when the backdrop displayed chronicled moments of celebration and friendship, from platinum albums to dearly departed friends like Chester and Vinnie and Dime, I wasn't expecting to fall in love all over again with a band who had already cemented a permanent and deeply rooted affection in my heart that has been a constant companion and motivator through years of struggle and self-doubt.

One word constantly used by band and fans to describe their music, is "empower". Music as a weapon. Pushing back the walls that the world would seek to confine us in, and making room for the pariahs and misfits, saying all are welcome, none are alone. I've watched these gentleman grow from tenacious young men to hardened veterans who, if anything, have only strengthened their foothold in the hearts of many and continue to blaze the trail they started before the millenium was upon us. Their fight from being a no-name band with a silly name, to finding a frontman with a new name and birthing their first original song "Want" from David's audition (If my memory from watching the dvd serves me correctly) the hunger has never waned and only grown over the 2 decades as the band has slowly evolved their sound that has become so beloved to the tens of thousands who keep their fists in the air.

These guys, intelligent and hilarious, passionate and devoted, are nothing but genuine to their fans, and I am immensely thankful for the 2 hours of a rich catologue of old classics and newer additions from the current chapter. When you attend a Disturbed show, you are in for an hour or two of pure musical escape, enlightenment, and yes, empowerment. It's more than middle fingers to the establishment, it's also a call to wake up and use those hands to help each other, as they displayed the numbers for the su***de hotlines. It's a reminder that we all are brothers and sisters coming together to commiserate and share a common bond and love of four individuals who pour out their passion and pain and power. We all are blood. We, are, Disturbed.
