Summer Kellogg Photography

Summer Kellogg Photography I am an on-site photographer who aims to capture the real-life beautiful moments. Please visit www.summerkellogg.com for more info.

My love for photography grew out of a need to find beauty amidst the pain of losing my Mom. My passion to document moments bloomed out of the realization that time is so very fleeting. My commitment to photography came from a deep desire to gather up our moments and hold onto them, even after my memory fades. My camera has allowed me to see better. Like a person who learns they have 20/70 vision a

nd is given the perfect prescription for their eyes, a whole world opens up. The view becomes crisper, clearer, and more vibrant. My view finder has given me a more accurate view of the wonderful world that is always right in front of me.

“She dreamed of a small wedding on the farm behind the home where she grew up. In attenance? Closest family and friends. An intimate wedding in an intimate setting. Perfection.

But life throws curve balls and the weather is going to do.”

There are not many pictures that exist of us where we are not sweat covered, and/or rain drenched immediately following a run. We aren’t the fancy type. We are more the come-as-you-are-you-get-what-you-get type.

But we have been married for twenty-five years today and that allows for a post ten mile run in the drenching rain selfie.

For twenty-five years this guy has been my provider, protector, cheerleader, encourager, leader, and quiet strength behind every moment of our life. I don’t know what I dreamed our life would be twenty-five years ago, but in my wildest imagination, I couldn’t have dreamed up something this good.

Twenty-five years later, I’m still in awe that he chose me to share this life. I am in awe of the way God has written our story so beautifully.

I am forever thankful for each day I get to spend when this guy. Forever thankful that we get to do life together the way we do. Forever thankful that we get to run together, laugh together, problem solve together, adventure together.

The reality is, home is wherever you are.

There has not been a day in twenty-five years that I haven’t felt safe, loved, and protected because he does all these things so well.

Thank you for 25 incredible years, Chad. Let the adventure continue…

“…When friends and family hear that I ran 100 miles I hear things like, Wow! That’s amazing! Or, You’re such an inspiration! Or, That is an incredible accomplishment! Congratulations!

Of course, I smile and say thank you and I appreciate the kind words. But there is so much more I want to say. More than anything, I want to say, I didn’t do it alone.”

“It’s the final senior in my “senior stragglers” series. Also knowns as "a few seniors who decided to do senior portaits in their own way and in their own time”. Summer and fall sessions? That’s easy. Doing them in the Spring, racing the clock to beat the walk across the stage to recieve a diploma? That’s how the pros do it. An element of adventure immediately added to senior portaits.”

“When I asked Blake where he would like to take his senior portraits, he mentioned a place I’d never been. When I met him for the first time, right before our shoot, the location made sense. It perfectly represented who he is.”

“I’ve had a few seniors schedule in the final homestretch of their senior year. Fall turned to winter quickly and winter enjoyed lingering so, here we are, a few paces from the finish line and capturing portraits to mark the season. I quite enjoy these late comers, making thier own rules and doing things their own way.”

“Eighteen years ago I thought I had all the time in the world. Eighteen years ago, the days were long. Eighteen years ago, I thought I’d be ready when this day came.

Turns out, I was right about some things, and wrong about others.”
